The Board is pleased to advise that Antonie Els has been appointed General Manager of the Manukau Golf Club with effect from 1 Septembers 2016.

Antonie has worked within the golf industry for over 18 years. He was previously Director of Golf at the Sun City Resort in South Africa, managing a large team of employees and was responsible for retail activities, food and beverage, administration and course maintenance. He holds certificates in both club and turf grass management which combined with his major tournament and event experience gives him a broad understanding of course and facilities management.
 
Antonie understands the dynamics of a member owned golf facility, working with committees and also understands the importance of member relationships and managing their expectations.
 
Antonie arrives in New Zealand on Saturday and he will take the opportunity over the next couple of weeks to acquaint himself of the progress of the Windross Course development since he was here three months ago. He will be based at the Windross Course from Monday 15th August.
 
We are very fortunate to have had Stewart Halligan as our general manager over the last seven difficult and challenging years. Stewart will step down as general manager on 31 August but will continue to work for the club over the next few months as we wind down all operations at Takanini and he will assist Antonie to gain understanding of all aspects of the new facility, having been a key member of the development of the course and clubhouse.
